Star Trek will get a film with a Star Wars director

The Star Trek universe is about to get even more expanded with the confirmation that a new movie in the franchise is in development. According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures has given the green light to the project, which will be directed by Toby Haynes, director of Andor, and written by Seth Grahame-Smith, writer of LEGO Batman: The Movie. The new movie will have connections to the 2009 Star Trek and will be an origin story set decades before the 2009 film, which rebooted the franchise. Few plot details have been revealed so far, but the production promises to be grand and exciting.

There is no information yet on the cast or the characters that will be present in the plot. The release date of the movie has also not been officially announced, so fans will have to wait a little longer to see the new adventure of the Enterprise crew.
