Sepultura, one of the most iconic bands in Brazil, recently announced the end of its activities. The heavy metal band will go on a farewell tour starting in 2024, which will be transformed into a new album with 40 songs.

The information was revealed in a press conference broadcast via YouTube.

“Celebrating Life Through Death” – Sepultura’s last tour – will last 18 months, passing through 40 countries. The performances begin in Belo Horizonte, the band’s city of origin, on March 1, 2024. São Paulo, Juiz de Fora, Brasília, Porto Alegre and Curitiba are already confirmed in Brazil, and more dates will be announced.

“It’s the last tour. We’re going to stop because it’s the best moment in the band’s history”, explained Andreas Kisser. “Today, we have a fantastic condition between us. We leave the scene calm and at peace with ourselves. It’s not a sad moment, it’s a celebratory moment.”

The announcement of the end of the band’s activities took many fans by surprise, but it was also received with great affection and respect. Sepultura has been on the road for 40 years and is considered one of the greatest exponents of heavy metal in the world. The band has sold more than 20 million copies of its albums and has performed around the world.

Currently, Sepultura is made up of Paulo Xisto Júnior (bass), Andreas Kisser (guitar), Derrick Green (vocals) and Eloy Casagrande (drums).
